Off-Premise Salesman
Objective: Plan, direct and control all aspects of sales, merchandising and delivery to achieve monthly and annual volume, distribution, marketing and merchandising objectives.

Planning & Administration

  • Consult with Supervisor on the sales and distribution objectives, marketing programs, strategies and action plans on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain monthly incentive and display summary form accurately and provide Supervisor with a copy each Friday morning.
  • Maintain up to date sales book with pricing, meeting minutes, new account forms, sales brochures, RAMP forms, competitive deal sheets and any other pertinent information.
  • Maintain accurate route cards with sales and inventory history to analyze package performance. Analysis of each account should lead to a sales plan to replace slow moving packages, add new packages, space recommendations, displays, P.O.S. and account reviews.
  • Maintain current RAMP cards for all impact accounts. Cards are to be filled in weekly with copies reviewed and given to supervisor monthly.
  • Maintain accurate account master in the order in which accounts are called on. The route master will include: account number, account name, phone number, buyer's name and any special information pertaining to that account. A copy of each days route master will be inserted in route book prior to each day's cards.
  • Maintain accurate route cards with an inventory and order entry for each package carried. Route cards are to placed in the order in which the calls are made in your route book.
  • Enter each collection made on a collection form, filling in all requested information.
  • Call in for messages two times per day, once in the a.m. and p.m.
  • T-com orders in two times per day, once in the a.m. and p.m. no later that 4:00 p.m.
  • Keep supervisor informed of scheduled vacation days and work ahead of scheduled vacation to minimize vacation route.

Principal Accountability

  • Call on assigned accounts using the frequency assigned to each account. Discuss any frequency changes with your supervisor based on account volume, product mix, potential & space.
  • Report any account openings or closings within your area to your supervisor.
  • Improve market share and sales through displays, pricing, space and product mix.
  • Maintain maximum exposure for all products with paper and permanent point-of-sale. Change paper P.O.S. timely to maintain current programs and schedule replacement of outdated P.O.S. as needed. Where supplier P.O.S. is not allowed, ensure that chain printed pricing and P.O.S. is properly displayed.
  • Responsible for protecting existing and pursuing new permanent P.O.S. placements. (neon's & lighted signs)
  • Responsible for supervising account service in merchandising and delivery and reporting any problems to your supervisor.
  • Assure quality control standards by depleting inventory to proper rotation levels, completing timely rotations and moving or exchanging product within 14 days of pull dates to provide the consumer with fresh quality product at all times. Product is to picked up and brought into the warehouse for redistribution to high volume accounts.
  • Responsible for notifying supervisor of any reset activity in assigned accounts and consulting with him on recommended changes.
  • Assure that all scheduled chain account features are executed at store level with the arranged level of support.
  • Maintain up to date records of all authorized packages for each chain and assure that authorized packages are in distribution.
  • Keep informed of all competitive activity in the trade and report to supervisor to keep management informed with a sound basis for decision making.
  • Ensure all collection activity is performed according to policy. Review any problem accounts with credit manager.
  • Meet with drivers and merchandisers at least weekly to discuss accounts.
  • Maintain proper inventory of P.O.S. in vehicle for use in accounts. Update P.O.S. monthly to ensure current programs are executed
  • Stocks accounts as needed.
  • When requested, calls on accounts with Distributor / Supplier representatives.
  • Meets or exceed established route volume plan

General

  • Maintain appropriate dress and personal appearance standards.
  • Know, understand and adhere to all Company policies and procedures. Responsible to support and hold co-workers accountable for the same.
  • Promote and maintain Company goodwill in all areas. Help maintain the positive image of Beloit Beverage Company in the trade.
  • Adhere to all applicable Federal, State, County and Local regulations regarding the sales and merchandising of malt beverage, wine and other beverage products.
